Bodywork Tank- Styling along same lines as '73 H1-D. H2 and S1/S3 tanks less angular, more round. Round ended Kawasaki logo for all colors.
Side cover- Metal on H1/H2, plastic on S -series. All have displacement badge on both sides. New "large" size.
Oil Tank- Internal plastic, behind right side cover.
Decals/Logos Both sides of tank have "Kawasaki" inside a round ended shape with pin stripes
Paint Candy Lime, Candy Burnt Gold, H2
Candy Lime, Candy Red, H1
Candy Red, Candy Sky Blue, S3
Candy Green, S1
Seat Key latch. Different type of pleating on cover, more "ribbed" in appearance, smoother contour from base of seat to top of tail piece.
Electrical System Turn Signals- Flatter signal lenses, mounted to headlight mount and rear brackets
Ignition Upgraded CDI H1, points on S-series.
Carburetors Upgraded on H2 to feed oil to float bowls (Autolube) S-series stayed with Superlube
Motor Top End Third type cylinders on H2. Cylinder change on H1.
Motor Bottom End Slotted big end on H1/H2 rods. (?) Unconventional (none down five up) shifting pattern on H series, normal (one down four up) on S-series.
Wheels/Tires/Brakes Chromed steel fenders.
Instruments Grouped together in a pod, white numerals, circular sun visors.
Switches Black housings. Choke is located on left switch assembly, holds open by friction adjustment.
Steering Damper Oil type, connects to frame/triple clamp bracket.
Cables Black nylon coated.
Miscellaneous Black painted solid chain guard. Exhaust now has "circular" shape when viewed from behind.
